Exul was formed in 2011 in Zamość by a group of high school friends. In the early years they played some local shows and recorded 5 demo songs. The band went on hiatus in 2014 after the members graduated from high school and left their hometown.

Exul was reformed with new lineup in 2017 in Kraków. They recorded „Demo 2017” and played a bunch of gigs form 2018 to 2019.

In 2019 the band started working on their first full-length. However, since 2020 the band activity was very limited due to lineup changes, and other circumstances. As a result, the album release was heavily delayed. Finally, in July 2022, their first album, Path to the Unknown, was released to the public.
